How to Cancel a Pixton Subscription (and What Happens to Student Work)
Quick answer
You cancel from inside your account: click the settings cog at the top right, choose Account, then Cancel Now. Pixton says you can do this at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not delete anything. Pixton is explicit that it will not delete your projects, your classrooms or your students’ projects when a subscription is cancelled. The one thing that does delete an account is a full year of inactivity.
Why this happens
Pixton subscriptions auto-renew. Its terms state that “payments will be processed automatically until you cancel the subscription,” on the same period you originally chose — monthly stays monthly, annual stays annual. Cancellation is the only thing that stops the next charge, and it has to happen before the renewal date to avoid it.
What cancellation does not do is the part teachers worry about. Pixton’s after-cancelling page states directly: “We will not delete any of your projects, your classrooms or your students’ projects if your subscription is cancelled.” The account stays. The work stays. The class stays.
The actual deletion trigger is inactivity: “All accounts are permanently deleted if they remain inactive for over a year or 365 days.” Inactive means no subscription and no login. When an educator account is deleted this way, every student account linked only to it goes with it. Logging in once a year prevents it.
What you need to know
- Sign in, click the settings or cog icon at the top right, select Account, and click Cancel Now. That is the entire process.
- Do it before the renewal date. Cancelling after a charge has gone through stops the next one but does not usually reverse the one just taken — the refund window is seven calendar days from first subscribing, not from the latest renewal.
- If you cannot get into the account, email support@pixton.com from the address on the account and ask them to cancel. Pixton says email is handled much faster than voicemail.
- Download or print anything you want outside Pixton before the paid period ends. Nothing is deleted, but exporting is easier while the plan is active.
- Expect classes and projects to remain visible afterwards. Students can still sign in and see their work.
- Put a reminder in your calendar to sign in at least once in the next twelve months. That single login is what keeps the account, and every student account attached to it, from being permanently deleted.
- If your school paid by purchase order rather than card, the subscription is a licence, and cancellation goes through whoever holds the licence rather than the self-serve Account page.
Cancel versus delete: they are not the same button
Cancelling stops billing and keeps everything. Deleting the account, which is a separate action Pixton documents separately, removes the account and its work permanently, and Pixton states it cannot restore deleted accounts. If you want to stop paying but might come back, cancel. If a student needs their data removed, that is account deletion, and for a class Student account the teacher does it with the deletion tool.
What your students see after you cancel
Their accounts still exist and their projects are still there. What changes is the ability to create: once the paid period ends, the Scene Maker is limited in the same way it is at the end of the Starter plan. Existing work can still be viewed, and Pixton’s documentation on downloading and printing still applies to it.
If that did not solve it
If you cancelled and were still charged, check the date: a charge that landed before you clicked Cancel Now is the renewal you were trying to avoid, and reversing it depends on the 7-day window from your original subscription date. Write to support@pixton.com with the receipt and the cancellation date either way.

How do I cancel my Pixton subscription?
Settings cog at the top right, then Account, then Cancel Now. Pixton allows this at any time. If you cannot sign in, email support@pixton.com from the account’s email address.
Will I lose my comics if I cancel Pixton?
No. Pixton states it will not delete your projects, classrooms or students’ projects when a subscription is cancelled. Only 365 days of inactivity deletes an account.

Only within seven calendar days of first entering the subscription, per Pixton’s terms. Cancelling later stops future charges but does not refund the current period, except at Pixton’s discretion.
Can my students still use Pixton after I cancel?
They can sign in and view their work. Creating new projects requires an active plan. Their accounts are not deleted by your cancellation.
