Pixton Pricing, Plans and Purchasing

Pixton pricing is more complicated than the plan table suggests: the free Starter plan has eligibility rules, the trial length is quoted differently in different places, and the refund window is only seven days. These guides give the numbers straight, with the conditions attached.

What you need to know first

Pixton’s pricing is simple on the surface and full of conditions underneath. New educator accounts get the Starter plan: full access to every feature for 30 days, capped at 40 projects in total across the teacher and all their students. It is not a permanent free tier. It is one per teacher, ever, and not available to any account that has previously held a subscription. When either limit is reached, the Scene Maker stops opening — Pixton lists that as the first cause on its own troubleshooting page.

After the Starter plan, the educator options are $25 a month or $144 a year, both auto-renewing, both cancellable at any time from the Account settings, and both including the full library of content packs, backgrounds, characters and lesson ideas. Schools and districts get custom pricing by requesting a quote. Students 13 and over working independently can buy a Solo Student plan at $10 a month or $49 a year.

Two rules cause most of the trouble. The refund window is seven calendar days from the day you first subscribed — not from the latest renewal — and after it, Pixton’s terms state fees are non-refundable except at its discretion. And cancelling deletes nothing: Pixton keeps projects, classes and student accounts. What does delete an account is 365 days of inactivity, students included, which is the rule teachers who cancel and walk away run into a year later.

These guides give the numbers with the conditions attached, quote the terms where the terms are what decide it, and say plainly which third-party pricing listings are out of date.
