The six things that break Pixton mid-lesson
Pixton’s own help center answers most of these in a single paragraph. These are the full versions, with the Chromebook and district-network causes included.
Pixton login not working
Pixton stores no passwords, so this is never a password problem. Wrong sign-in method for the class type, a second account, or a district OAuth block — in that order.
Blank screen or white page
Usually a blocked asset domain, not a broken account. Includes Pixton’s published allow-list, ready to paste into the IT ticket.

A comic did not save

How Pixton works, in five minutes
The shape of the product, so the rest of this site makes sense. Pixton has a handful of moving parts, and most classroom problems come from one of them being set up in a way that cannot be changed later.
Accounts and classes
A teacher creates an Educator account on Pixton.com, then creates a class from the My Groups tab. The last setup step decides how students will sign in, and it is permanent for that class: either single sign-on through Google, Microsoft or Clever, or teacher-issued usernames. Pixton is explicit that the two class types are not compatible, so a class cannot be switched between them afterwards.
Students should only ever arrive through the join link or class code the teacher shares. A student who searches for Pixton and signs up on the homepage gets a Solo Student account instead, which sits outside any class and is gated to age 13 and over.
The Scene Maker
The comic editor itself. Students place characters, props and backgrounds on a panel, pose them, add speech, and build scenes into a comic, storyboard, book or graphic novel. Everything is rendered live in the browser, which is why a crowded panel slows a Chromebook down and why Pixton sets browser minimums — Chrome 128, Edge 141, Firefox 144.
Pixton loads the Scene Maker’s assets from several domains beyond pixton.com. A school filter that allows the main site but not the rest produces the classic blank white screen.

Activities, drafts and publishing
Teachers assign work as an Activity. Students build their project inside it, and Pixton saves automatically as they go. But every project is a draft until the student clicks Publish, and the teacher’s View Projects screen shows only published work. That single distinction explains most “my student’s comic is missing” tickets.

Plans, the trial and money
New educator accounts get the Starter plan: full access for 30 days, capped at 40 projects across the teacher and all students. It is one per teacher, ever, and not available to anyone who has subscribed before. After it, educator plans are $25 a month or $144 a year, with school and district licences by quote. Students 13 and over working on their own can buy a Solo Student plan at $10 a month or $49 a year.
Cancelling deletes nothing — Pixton keeps projects, classes and student accounts. The refund window, by contrast, is seven calendar days from first subscribing. And any account untouched for 365 days is permanently deleted, students included.

Pixton or Pixzton — which did you mean?
Pixton (no z) is the comic-creation platform made by Pixton Comics Inc. Its official home is Pixton.com, and if you are trying to sign in, that is where you should go. Pixzton is this site: an independent, unaffiliated reference that documents Pixton in far more depth than a vendor help center is ever going to, including the parts Pixton has no commercial reason to write about — what it costs in practice, where it struggles, and when a different tool would serve your lesson better.
How these guides are written
Every page here is tested on a live Pixton account before it is published, and re-tested when Pixton ships a change.
Written the way you search
Pixton names its help articles after features. Teachers search after symptoms. Every guide here is titled and structured around the problem as you experience it, and answers it in the first sixty words.
Every page carries a check date
Pixton publishes a change log and ships regularly, so anything written about it goes stale. Each guide shows when its facts were last checked against the official documentation, and we re-check on a schedule.
We can say what a vendor cannot
We are not paid by Pixton and have no affiliate relationship with them. That is why we can tell you the refund window is only seven days, and when a free alternative is enough.
Only finished guides are published
There are no placeholder pages here waiting to be filled in later. If a guide is listed, it is written. New topics appear when the guides behind them are done.
